Mental Health Grants Awarded for 2013

A high volume of Grants were awarded over the years for interesting and significant areas of research.  In 2013 Grants  and Scholarships totalled $875,149. These included 8 Mental Health Research Grants, 14 Ian Scott PhD Scholarships and 1 Postdoctoral Fellowship.

Mental Health Grants focusing on the
Mental Health of Young Australians
Applications are sought from individuals or research teams for 1, 2 or 3 year mental health research grants. Research grants are valued at up to $70,000pa + GST, and must relate to the mental health of young Australians (aged 0-25 years).

Royce Abbey Post  Doctoral Fellowship
The Royce Abbey Post Doctoral Fellowship is open to individuals who hold a doctorate degree within an appropriate discipline, and have a strong interest in the area of mental health. The Fellowship is only available for full time appointment, and is valued at $75,000pa across 3 years.

Ian Scott PhD Scholarships
Mental health PhD scholarships are available to students who hold an appropriate undergraduate (honours) or masters degree. PhD scholarships are valued at $29,000pa for a maximum of 3.5 years, and students must be within the first year of a PhD, or about to commence their PhD, in order to be eligible.

Geoff Bailey PhD Scholarship

PhD scholarships in any health area are available to Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islanders, and are valued at $29,000pa for a maximum of 3.5 years. Applicants must be a previous Australian Rotary Health Indigenous Scholar in order to be eligible.
