Parramatta City Annual Golf Challenge

On 16th June 2009, the Rotary Club of Parramatta City held its annual Golf Day.  In its third year, the Parramatta City Annual Golf Challenge has now provided 4 three-year PhD research scholarships – with Australian Rotary Health – in four different areas of health research.

From proceeds the first year (2007) a PhD scholarship was awarded to Elise Jackson of the Centenary Institute in NSW for breast cancer research.  Proceeds from the second year were directed into heart disease research and Rhian Shephard also of the Centenary Institute received the scholarship.  From proceeds raised in 2009 and the balance of funds from the other two years, two scholarships will be awarded for 2010 – one in Youth Suicide research and one in Prostate Cancer research.
