Goodwill Charity Card Shop
PDG Monica Saville and her group of Santa’s helpers John Corney, John Edwards, John Fenessy, Heather Pinto, Geoff Saville and Monica’s daughter and grandson Gillian Stals and Ben Stals gave generously of their time to attend a working bee at Saville’s. During the day we collated 5,500 of the 10,000 Australian Rotary Health Christmas Cards and accompanying envelopes into packs of 10 ready for sale.
This year the Goodwill Charity Card Shop will be held in Room 17 on the first floor of the Dymocks Building, 428 George Street in the City. Twelve charities will each have 10 Christmas cards on sale, making a total of 120 different cards from which the general public can choose. PDG Monica Saville has had Rotary’s name on the waiting list for 7 years, and she sees this as an excellent opportunity to not only raise funds for Australian Rotary Health but to further promote the name of Rotary and what it does.
The Shop has a paid Coordinator and the 12 Charities provide volunteers on a rostered basis 10am – 3pm during the 3 months the Shop is open. The dates allocated to Rotary are all Mondays - 21 September, 19 October, 2 November, 16 November, 30 November and 14 December 2009.
