District Committees

Role of the District Committee

The success of Australian Rotary Health in each district is directly related to the quality and enthusiasm of the District Australian Rotary Health Chairman and his Committee. All the tools to make his task successful will be provided:

♦  To promote Australian Rotary Health to all Rotary clubs in the District using audio-visual aids and other promotional material provided by the Fund.
♦  To personally visit each club as guest speaker at least once a year, disseminating contribution levels and other information data.

♦  Advise the District Governor as to the suitability of clubs for the Perpetual Trophy Award presented at the District Conference.

♦  To allocate to each member of the Committee a number of clubs to service, preferably those clubs with which they have a close relationship.
♦  To suggest to each club or group of clubs that it conducts its own fundraising project and assist them by providing fundraising ideas.
♦  To promote and generally support all fundraising projects.

♦  To hold committee meetings regularly in order to collect information as to the club's activities, to discuss the distribution of information to clubs and to co-ordinate assistance to fundraising projects.

♦  To provide minutes of committee meetings to the District Governor and Regional Co-ordinator, to keep them informed of District activities.

♦  To arrange (with consent of the District Governor and Club Presidents') for the appointment of a representative within each club who should become the club contact person.

♦  To arrange with the consent of the District Governor to conduct a segment for club representatives and other groups at the District Assembly together with brief segments to Presidents-Elect and Community Service Chairmen.

♦  Dissemination of Information

All members of the District Committee receive all Australian Rotary Health Newsletters and the Facts Booklet.

It is the responsibility of the District Chairman to confer with the District Governor to arrange an entertaining and educational segment for the District Conference.
