Cook for a Cure 2011

Did you know that by the year 2020, depression is set to be the world’s leading cause of disability?

1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental disorder at some stage in their life. Australian Rotary Health is hoping to decrease this number by increasing the amount of research we can fund in order to improve the quality of life of Australians living with mental illness.
Australian Rotary Health is one of Australia's largest not for profit, independent health research funds.

Currently focusing on mental health research, Australian Rotary Health has provided close to $27 million worth of funds to medical research since 1981 as a result of the kind donations of its supporters. Almost $3 million was spent on health based research and education in 2010 alone.

Australian Rotary Health also assists the indigenous and rural community through providing medical and nursing scholarships to students studying in the health care industry.

This August, we would love your support by joining us in Cook for a Cure. By holding an event, whether it be a sausage sizzle, a morning tea or a five-course banquet, you will be contributing to much needed medical research or helping a young doctor or nurse achieve their dream by contributing to an indigenous or rural health scholarship.
